What I was trying to do
I was attempting to capture the gloom of stopping during rainy road trips, at this case at Lancaster Services on the M6, knowing you have to leave the car but not wanting to - and then the relief of getting back to the car. There was also maybe something about the building looming over me adding to the mood. This was part of a relatively short-lived series I did called 'Screenshots', taken through the windscreen or side window of the car, that I started as a way to photograph during Covid (but was ultimately curtailed by it). I realised during the project that it was actually something I'd always done, going as far back as holidays in the 80s & 90s. My First Submission! Apologies if it should have been a photo taken this month, I've only signed up today and doubt I'll have time to shoot anything before the deadline.
