What I was trying to do
I was photographing a No Kings protest and I was looking for things that seemed non typical for protest. With all the protesting at street level, I happened to look up at a couple in a hotel pool with a glass wall and quickly changed lenses to my longest available (90mm) to capture the image. It was like 2 separate worlds colliding.
What worked
It worked out the way I intended - the framing with the casual couple enjoying pool time above a protest. I wanted there to be evidence of a protest, but I wanted the pool to be primary.
What I'd do differently
A longer lens would have been great.
