What I was trying to do
One of many attempts to illustrate the confused, half asleep, half awake feeling at the start of an early morning journey into London from Brighton railway station. I noticed the poster with the writing "Excite your imagination" when I took my seat at near the rear of the train around 5am and anticipated only getting shots of commuters' backs as they either walked past on the platform or reflected in the window as they walked inside the train. As it turned out, a few minutes before I took this shot, the train was cancelled and we were asked to move to a slightly train; I saw someone walking back towards me and noticed that they way the reflection of the train interior and the ambient light outside might make an interesting (and confusing image). The fact that the person's head appears to be missing, plays nicely with the wording on the poster and the one next to it showing a head and torso.
What worked
A series of happenstances conspired to bring several elements together
What I'd do differently
I think the edit (colour treatment) might benefit from more consideration; using my GRiii at around ISO 5000 might have been avoided with a wider aperture too. But overall, happy to take a little good fortune and add this to a larger body of 'hypnagogia' work
