Intent
Behind the frame
- What I was trying to do:
- I was looking for a shot emcompassing this cafe and the people within it when I noticed that I had been spotted by the young boy standing on his mother's lap.
- What worked:
- The fact that the boy is staring straight at me draws the attention as he is in a strong area of the image compositionally and is wearing light coloured clothing which helps him stand out. I like the inclusion of all the other figures in the cafe. I have just noticed that part of my own reflection is in there too.
- What I'd do differently:
- I would have liked to get closer but the danger would have been alerting attention and photographing children is a very sensitive thing to attempt in this day and age.
