What I was trying to do

In London on one of the hottest days of the heatwave and so I had to try to do something to show the heat. The tube was a sweatbox and yet still crowded.. nothing stops a Londoner when they've got somewhere to go. I watched the cramped scenes pass by behind the glass of the trains. This one of the hot faces and fans being waved told my story of the day.

What worked

It's a technically imperfect photo as my camera was struggling, but we were all struggling that day so it fits. The lo-fi quality looks to me like I paused a VHS of some old 80's movie.

What I'd do differently

This was pre-focussed with AF turned off but 1/500 wasn't quite fast enough. I could have leant into the iso a bit more for a faster shutter.
