Intent
What I was trying to do
Initially I focused on the man centered inside the restaurant. I was waiting for the man outside, closest to the restaurant, to reach the empty space in the right side of the main window. Suddenly the man stopped near the center and turned, looking directly at me. Initially I hadn’t noticed the protruding sleeve of a person directly behind this man, because they were wearing the exact same shirt. All the other people within the frame had no distracting elements. Without changing any settings, I switched focus to him and snapped the photograph. They weren’t the ideal settings, but the photo gods were being incredibly kind, so I chose gratitude over perfection.
