What I was trying to do
I wanted to capture the slightly surreal / disconnected nature of the scene. The car feels really out of place and contrasts with the neutral surroundings. I was keen the keep the frame and composition really clean to let the car colour and the action of the man under the car, do the talking. It's also a nod to one of my favourite shots by Helen Levitt.
What worked
I like the scale of the composition - it doesn't work so well on a phone screen. At first it looks like just a picture of a car until you spot the legs underneath.
What I'd do differently
I would have loved to have been able to go even wider, but other parked vehicles got in the way of the clean composition I was after. The light was a bit flat - though I am not sure more contrast would have actually enhanced the image. It would be nice for the white road marking to run parallel to the frame too...
