What I was trying to do:
People say shooting street in NYC is so easy, but it's hard to get clean backgrounds and it's all starting to look very similar amongst the community. Even my own photos have been looking too similar after shooting here for the last 10 years. So I mixed it up, bought a Ricoh GRIV Mono and have been experimenting with new techniques. Shooting street with a slow shutter is not as easy as traditional street in NYC but I am rewarding myself by seeing a different side of it.
What worked:
Been bouncing around between 1/4 and 1/8, but 1/4 seems to give a more ghostly image without totally losing the subject, giving the viewer a starting point to formulate their own image.
