I went to Osloer Straße because I knew the tiling is vibrant Norwegian flags. However, the lighting felt poor and everyone was dressed in dark tracksuits. I set my camera to a contrasty Agfa recipe and thought the train arriving would set the guy in dark jacket off, while the woman in white would stand out against tiles. I tweaked the RAW bringing down the blue and red filters to darken the tiles adding more contrast, raising the yellow to add vibrance.
What worked:
I think I got close to the contrast I wanted, and pleased I was able to 'see' it happening in monochrome (this is happening more and more). Slow shutter meant I could keep ISO down for a clean look and stopped down aperture. I feel the angle adds movement too, rather than a tidy straight frame.
What I'd do differently:
I wish some faces had been visible (naturally everyone is looking towards train) With the slow shutter one blurred face and one static face, looking toward me in foreground) could have been good, but maybe that would have made the scene too busy.
