Behind the frame
- What I was trying to do:
- This is a street photo where I live! Taken down the road, on the Lizard peninsula in Cornwall. I saw this photo as a monochrome image as I was taking it. There was something about the contrasts - between land & sea, the textures and the white birds & the rocks - that I found eye-catching and appealing to attempt to capture. To be honest, I wasn't going to submit a photo this month (not having had the opportunity to shoot anything this month and not having many street photographs in my archive), until I saw the latest video on the Framelines channel on YouTube - where the assignment was discussed with Samuel. And this photo sprung to mind. Thanks for the guidance guys!

At first I thought (and still kind of do) this is a nature shot. Then I read your comment : D But because there is no street or road or any sign of human presence (even if it's non-human) makes me still see this as a nature shot. Doesn't mean it's not a cool shot! Also, I would probably crop a bit of the water out to make the birds take up 2/3 of the image. Seems like a better balance.
Thanks for the feedback Samuel! The street part was a joke, on account of Cornwall having so much more coastline than opportunities for street photos - but you're right of course. Maybe I shouldn't have submitted anything after all.
