What I was trying to do:
The Presidio Tunnel Tops is one of the best locations to view the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco Bay, Alcatraz Island the Palace of Fine Arts, and the San Francisco skyline. This area is people magnet for tourists and locals alike. I like to use 35mm and 50mm for walking around, and a 100-400mm for compression shots, especially with the Golden Gate Bridge as a backdrop. I noticed this man getting ready to take group shots of these kids. These kids are characters, especially the girl on the right.
What worked:
The composition lined up nicely and the distinct personalities of the kids were wonderful.
What I'd do differently:
I wish the people sitting on the lawn in the foreground were in positions that were more defined and better placed. It was a quick capture shot, so I’m happy with the layers and the depth of field.
