Intent
Behind the frame
What I was trying to do:
I wanted to capture the surreal moment of fruit flying through the air whilst the storm was raging and yet another lady was calmly browsing her phone as the waves were crashing towards her. It took a moment to get the timing right and I’m glad it was the banana as I’m certain an orange or apple would have just looked like a ball in monochrome. I love the distinctive silhouette against the white sea foam.
What worked:
Was trying out a new slightly wider focal length and wanted to see if it worked well for street still. I cropped in a little as I still see my subject zoomed in. I love catching the banana mid air dead centre in frame.
What I'd do differently:
I thought maybe closer to the subject, over the shoulder could have been nice too. Although I like the context upon reflection.

What a marvellous and peculiar image! So enigmatic with the lady throwing/catching a banana? The second, wind-blown lady, staring at her phone seemingly oblivious to the wind and crashing waves. And the pier, beautifully filling the skyline. Love it! Bravo!
