I was drawn to this scene and the way the woman was slowly walking through the street. She's moving under this old column, past a fresco of angels rising into the clouds, and there's something about that contrast that stopped me — her very real, physical effort against something so timeless and still.
What worked:
I think that shooting this with black and white film really enhanced the feel of the image. The same grey tones bind flesh, marble, and painted cloud into one continuous, timeless moment.
What I'd do differently:
If I were to shoot this again, I would move more to my left so that the relationship between the woman and the fresco is much closer.
