Intent
Behind the frame
- What I was trying to do:
- During a visit to Bilbao, we spent an afternoon wandering the streets of the old town. Most of people passing through the narrow streets were locals, so I was trying to capture a still of daily life. It was a bright day, which created stark shadows and a lovely glow around subjects. This was my favourite of the scenes I managed to capture, due to the clear shapes around the dogs and the walking man.
- What worked:
- The clearly defined shapes of the three main subjects interacting with the harsh light, creating the stark shadows and silhouettes.
- What I'd do differently:
- If I could have lined up the street to be perfectly symmetrical, that would have improved the composition.
