Intent
Behind the frame
- What I was trying to do:
- I liked the high contrast created by the sunlight, both in front of and behind the arch. I also liked how the arch created a natural frame around the subject.
- What worked:
- A few people walked through the frame, but I particularly liked the guy carrying an umbrella. The light and shadow were visible on the umbrella too, which added another interesting element to the image.
- What I'd do differently:
- If I had been able to stay longer, I would have waited for the split between light and shadow to fall exactly at the highest point of the arch. I think this would have made the composition feel even more balanced.
