Intent
Behind the frame
- What I was trying to do:
- I had shot around this staircase before at a different angle and felt a desire to visit again and do something at this angle with people moving through.
- What worked:
- Though it didn't work out exactly as I had envisioned it, perhaps this worked out better. Instead of having the opportunity of exploring the movement of people, the movement of the train is a bit more dramatic. I'm a fan of geometric shapes and find this image offers plenty for the eye to take in.
- What I'd do differently:
- At a certain time, there is a great square pool of direct sunlight on either side of this staircase, which was not there at the time of this photo. I see myself returning to explore its possibilities further to exploit that light and the interaction of people moving through that space.
