Intent
Behind the frame
- What I was trying to do:
- Taken in Austria, Millstatt am See, I was shooting Agfa APX 100 on my Leica M3. I wanted to remember how calm the lake was with the mountains and clouds looming in the background.
- What worked:
- When I first looked at this I hated it. Thought it was the worst work I'd done. After speaking to a close friend about this photograph and others from the roll, this particularly photo grew on me. The texture of the clouds and the water was spot on, utterly love those, and the silhouettes of the people was a happy accident. The contrast between them on the platform and the water was a nice (accidental) touch.
- What I'd do differently:
- I won't lie, I beefed the metering. I was also shooting 100 ISO, which I never do (I'm usually an HP5 Plus person) but wanted the challenge of shooting something I had too many rolls of. So, to do something differently? Actually meter it correctly...!
