Behind the frame
What I was trying to do:
Wandering Hongdae, Seoul I found these three groups of people on benches and immediately tried to frame them up. What I didn't realize until I was editing them on the plane back home was that two of the men had turned to look right at the camera. One rather obviously in the foreground, and another peeking from behind the woman he was with. What had been a nicely balanced moment on the street gets filled with a sense of unease. The man in the background in black hat feels like he is sensing the camera and about to turn his glare on us as viewers as well.
