My first submission! Exciting to be here! I will try to shoot NEW stuff for coming assignments! But this was recently, on the streets of New York. I tried to capture these black guys who walked and looked like they were owning the catwalk. In the ray of light behind them appeared a mother who was aware of me. I tried to capture the people in the ray of light, hoping to make a trio with the two guys and the mother.
What worked:
The front guy didn't notice me or ignored me. Either way he's in his own world. The mother DID notice me, which I like as a contrast. I like the hand on the right, and the lack of hands of the black guy. I like the presence of white clothes on the right, black clothes on the left. There's rhythm and movement?
What I'd do differently:
I would have loved to get BOTH guys and the mother, preferably a glimpse of the child, too. Just a bit more space between the people, would have given it more space to breathe? If my camera would have been a bit higher, and the lens wider (this was a 50mm), maybe I would have gotten there?
