Behind the frame

What I was trying to do:

I really wanted to capture a variety of people all doing the same thing, at the same time, in the same place - watching the solar eclipse in Greenwich Park. I used Ilford XP2 Super 400 black and white film to produce punchy, contrasty images that showcased what everyone was there to see - the light (or absence of).

What worked:

I love the harshness of the lighting and how the central couple draw your eyes into the frame so you can start investigating what else is happening.

What I'd do differently:

I'd probably use a 28mm lens next time instead of a 35mm, so I can capture an even wider scene.
