Intent
Behind the frame
What I was trying to do:
A game of dam in Singapore’s Chinatown, surrounded by onlookers—and a little discreet wagering under the table. (Leica M4-2, Voigtländer Color-Skopar 28/2.8, UltraMax 400)
What worked:
Capturing both the action and the attention everyone gives to these games. They run throughout the week, but really come alive from Friday afternoon through Saturday.
What I'd do differently:
I would have stepped slightly to the right and a bit closer to the gentleman beside me. This would have allowed me to capture more of the audience to the left while framing the game more deliberately between the two gentlemen—essentially using them as a frame within the frame.
