Intent
Behind the frame
- What I was trying to do:
- This was taken at Blackpool Rebellion, probably one of the best and largest Punk festivals in the UK. It could be said that shooting street here is as easy as shooting fish in a barrel however, it is crawling with photographers, and the festival goers are very aware of their presence. I decided to shoot street portraits using a speedlite to overpower the harsh ambient light - sort of like Gilden but I did give some warning before I shot the image. \nobody else was doing this. In this one I didn't warn or signal - I saw it and shot before the spatial relation between the two subjects was lost.
