The Green Garages is a car wash come coffee bar come community space in Walmer, Kent where the greasy whiff of the 1970s lack of health and safety still pervades. Well worth a visit with a camera.

These photographs are fantastic! First of all the story is wonderful. It feels like the automotive version of the local family pub. The richness of your blacks and the light pouring in give these monochrome images a nostalgic quality. My only criticism is that you only gave us four photographs. I would by this photo book if you made one, especially if you narrated it like you described this post.
Wow. Thanks so much for that JH. I was only there for 15 minutes. It’s a great space though. Fantastic light. I’ve been thinking about putting a zine together and I’d already decided that the words had to be just as compelling as the images. INCOMING SHAMELESS PLUG ALERT - Last year I did write a $10 Kindle book called Click! about how you become a better photographer without wasting money on kit you don’t need.

Well then, I’ll have to take a look.
Your book is unavailable in the US... weird.
