What I was trying to do

I was looking for a scene that involved someone either side of glass as I hoped this would give it a more traditional street photography feel.

What worked

I originally shot this in portrait orientation, but realised that showing the whole phone box didn’t add anything and in fact detracted from the subjects. This crop worked better than I had expected with the edge of the phone box creating two distinct frames within the photograph making the girl outside the phone box feeling even more isolated from the couple inside.

What I'd do differently

I wish I’d waited until the person behind had walked past, and maybe repositioned myself further right so I could get a more side-on profile of the couple in the phone box.
