What I was trying to do

I was trying to capture this moment of this family in flux. The mother seemed to be having one of those moments where dealing with three small boys all at once became too much.

What worked

I think the contrast between the family dynamic with the bookish boy and the other two sons with the idealised "jazz hands" in the sign stood out. I liked how I was also able to capture them within the shadows of the lamppost and the bunting. Luckily, the strong light and punchy colours enhanced the scene!

What I'd do differently

Maybe eye contact from one of the children may have drawn the eye more into the image.
