Behind the frame
What I was trying to do:
I wanted to capture how it feels like to work in corporate. It feels wrong to complain about it, but it also feels like I’m slowly withering away. I constantly find myself looking past what’s in front of me while at work, the horizon always feels more compelling to me. It feels cold and suffocating, a feeling of being ensnared by the work and “benefits”.
What worked:
The clouds, this photo would work if it was a large print for the sky. The wall and the trees, I feel like one restricts access while the other ensnares me. I also like the color, it offers two feelings from the same color. The blue from the sky fills me with hope while the blue from the wall feels cold, surgical and indifferent. The wall also looks sick to me but very sterile.
What I'd do differently:
I would like to make this into a series, this photo caught me but there may be another that could distill my feeling in this space.
