Behind the frame
What I was trying to do:
Capture the feeling of being in transit, between places. On the way to the airport or on the way home, with something weighing on the mind of the person in silhouette. Perhaps they've left behind someone they'll never see again.
What worked:
To my mind, the textures, the play of light and shadow, the overall composition, and the way it invites us to imagine a story.
What I'd do differently:
I would try it again without the water bottle, just to see how it looks, but I think it might just be the one thing that keeps the image from becoming too abstract. One might argue it contributes to the story--making the setting more concrete *and* showing that the passenger is too preoccupied with their thoughts to take advantage of the complimentary water...
