Behind the frame
- What I was trying to do:
- I wanted to capture the churn of the city. I was trying to hold down the wonky, slippery grid. I like the way monochrome renders everything as textures to be thrown together like a collage.
- What worked:
- The way the lines on the subject's face work of the lines various horizontals and verticals, actually they're probably all diagonals. Really makes the figures another graphic element.
