Intent
Behind the frame
- What I was trying to do:
- I wanted to create a quiet, cinematic portrait that showed a sense of solitude and connection with the ocean. I was looking for soft light, movement in the water, and a strong contrast between the blue dress and the darker tones of the sea.
- What worked:
- The color of the dress worked well with the environment, and the waves added texture and movement to the frame. I also like her natural expression and the amount of space around her, which helps communicate the feeling of being alone in a large landscape.
- What I'd do differently:
- I would try shooting from a slightly lower angle and wait for a stronger wave to create more movement around her. I might also position her a little farther from the center and pay closer attention to where the horizon crosses behind her body.
