Behind the frame
- What I was trying to do:
- I saw this scene through a window in Soho. It was quite a large room that was empty other than this table and chairs. I liked the way the blue just lit the corner of the room so that naturally became my focus. I was also drawn to the ‘of love’ text on the wall which I framed in isolation intentionally.
- What worked:
- I like that the foreground is in shadow. I think it helps to draw the eye into the corner of the room. The tone of the blue pairs well with the soft texture of the curtains.
- What I'd do differently:
- I wish there was more space to the left of the ‘of love’ text, but there was another word immediately to the left. I can’t remember what it was, but I know I thought it took away from the simplicity of the scene which is why I composed it the way I did.
