I saw this scene through a window in Soho. It was quite a large room that was empty other than this table and chairs. I liked the way the blue just lit the corner of the room so that naturally became my focus. I was also drawn to the ‘of love’ text on the wall which I framed in isolation intentionally.
What worked:
I like that the foreground is in shadow. I think it helps to draw the eye into the corner of the room. The tone of the blue pairs well with the soft texture of the curtains.
What I'd do differently:
I wish there was more space to the left of the ‘of love’ text, but there was another word immediately to the left. I can’t remember what it was, but I know I thought it took away from the simplicity of the scene which is why I composed it the way I did.
