Intent
Behind the frame
- What I was trying to do:
- This is the only blue tennis court I have ever encountered, in a random village in southern Italy no less. So I tried taking an environmental portrait of it, really highlighting the unusual color.
- What worked:
- The surroundings (dusty pink houses, green floor and trees) help the blue of the court pop even more, which I quite like. I opted for a vertical orientation, cropping the court, while showing the entire net. I think this adds a little tension to an otherwise very quaint scene.
- What I'd do differently:
- It would have been great to return to this scene with people playing tennis.
