Behind the frame
- What I was trying to do:
- I placed the camera down at street level, shooting upward through the blue legs of a mail collection box and using the legs to create framed openings, waiting for pedestrians to cross through all three.
- What worked:
- Bringing the camera just inches from the mail box distorted the sense of scale, making them feel oversized while the pedestrians appeared much smaller.
- What I'd do differently:
- Patience. This was already my second visit to the scene. On my first, I worked with two openings, but on this revisit I challenged myself by creating three. Finding the right arrangement of pedestrians across all three frames was difficult, and I'd happily return again to wait for an even stronger balance.
