The Fish Market - Colors and Tradition
The fish market in Essaouira, Morocco, is a colorful and lively place filled with strong contrasts. The market is part of the traditional life of the city, where fishermen have brought their daily catch to be sold for generations. The atmosphere is busy and authentic, but also intense. The salty smell of the sea mixes with the strong smell of fresh fish, while seagulls gather everywhere, calling and waiting for scraps.
I chose this moment because the port is a very photogenic place, and I wanted to capture a small part of its everyday life. Rather than showing everything that was happening in the market, I focused on one fisherman and his large fish, surrounded by the details of the stall and the activity around him. The red that appears throughout the image adds another strong element to the composition and brings the different parts of the picture together.

I like how the reds all co-ordinate and the bowl mirrors the sign. The colours in this photo are really strong. Good example of a strong colour match photo.
