Currently my EDC is a Ricoh GR 3X. I'm considering the GR IV, but thought I'd see what others are carrying around as their EDC? At this stage of life, light weight is the most important factor. I'm looking for something I can use as a travel camera perhaps and then also maybe on the street when I want something other than 40mm. Appreciate any input.
I don’t own one (yet), but the Lumix L10 looks like a pretty killer travel cam! My friend got one, and loves theirs.
The Fujifilm X-E5 with the kit lens (23mm 2.8) has become my EDC since the end of May. It’s essentially a X100VI with the ability to change the lens. Still getting used to shooting with the 23mm focal length, but so far so good. Used it on my last night in Osaka, Hong Kong, and Cyprus. It’s a little smaller than the Sony a6300, 6400, and 6600 I’ve carried for the past 10 years. I picked up the Sigma 18-50mm f 2.8 when I need the versatility of a zoom lens. It’s the default lens on my last two Sonys.
Q3, a bit bulkier but great all rounder
X100VI is my EDC. Not as small and as light as a Ricoh GR but a viewfinder is essential for me.

Depends how much you're ready to spend as well.
But as a first budget-friendly option, I would recommend point & shoot cameras like:
- Sony RX100 series
- Canon G7X series
- Panasonic Lumix TZ / ZS series
- Panasonic LX
All of them have zoom lenses with a variety of ranges, but also have a 1-inch sensor or smaller, so not a great High ISO performance.
Now, if you want interchangable lenses I think there are some great options too:
- Fujifilm X-E Series [APS-C]
- Sony a6000 Series [APS-C]
- Lumix GX85/80 [Micro 4/3]
- OM System Pen [Micro 4/3]
- Lumix S9 [Full Frame]
- Sony A7C Series [Full Frame]
The trick would be finding pancake lenses for each system, but I do believe there's at least one for each of them
