Currently, I’m shooting with my Ricoh GR3X but I’m considering purchasing the Ricoh GR IV - this way I have both my favorite focal lengths covered and never have to worry about what to bring along on a full day of shooting. Recently, I took my Canon R8 and a 50 mm 1.8 lens into the city for a long day and dealt with wrist pain for several days afterwards. I’ve tried hanging it around my neck and also using a crossbody strap, but I just can’t get comfortable with either of those options. Would love to hear any user experience with the Ricoh GR IV, both good and bad. 🙏🏻
Still Searching
Currently my EDC is a Ricoh GR 3X. I'm considering the GR IV, but thought I'd see what others are carrying around as their EDC? At this stage of life, light weight is the most important factor. I'm looking for something I can use as a travel camera perhaps and then also maybe on the street when I want something other than 40mm. Appreciate any input.
Leica cla
Hey guys!
Just wondering who everyone uses to get a film Leica CLA'd in the UK. Specifically a leicaflex SL and a M4. I don't want to send them to Leica itself as the wait times are insane so any good UK based technicians would be great!
Looks like OM System is entering the chat
They tease this a week after I pick up the OM-3 🫠
Fuji XF 18mm f1.4 R WR
Wow! I owned this lens on this body about a year ago and I don’t understand why I sold it, today I took delivery of this and went to Alton Towers with the family. Here’s a couple of shots, wide open SOOC JPEGs, the wider shot is at f8. I’m astounded at how sharp it is, anyone looking for a full frame equivalent 28mm(ish) on Fuji then look no further.
Zoom Lenses or Primes
How do we all feel about zooms? I've always gravitated towards primes to keep size down and keep me focused. However, I decided to pick up a 24-50 zoom to be more prepared for events and travel etc. so I can just bring one lens and call it a day. I feel like they can actually be harder to work with but I'm interested to know how many here prefer them over primes.
Camera Straps
Hey Everyone, I was just wondering what camera straps everyone uses for street & travel photography? Or what brands of camera straps you'd recommend?
Presentation software for an iPad
I need to present a project next week, a series of photographs, and I’d like to present on an iPad. The Apple Photos app is worse than useless, so I’m leaning towards Lightroom. I’ve googled around, but there doesn’t seem to be much available for this sort of thing. Does anybody have any thoughts or recommendations
Kids camera recs
I have a daughter who will soon be 7, and I'd like to get her a camera that's suitable for her age. I don't want anything with games or other distractions built in.
Reddit seems to recommend either the CampSnap digital camera (which doesn't have a screen) or the Kodak Friendly Zoom FZ45 (which does have a screen).
Does anyone here enjoy photography with their kids? I'd love to hear your recommendations or experiences.
NAS or DAS?
Hi! I don't know if I'm writing to the right section but I wanted to ask people about their NAS or DAS system experience and recommendations. I saw Josh's NAS video and shooting always I thought that I should update my system a bit (recently I lost data from Lacie and that made me question everything again. I had one backup) I heard that NAS system are targets of hackers these days and DAS is safer and less expensive etc. and also NAS or DAS HDD's are less expensive than portable ones. so It kinda makes more sense?
Fuji OVF focus?
Fuji shooters who have an OVF and actually use it: how are you focusing? I’ve been a pretty picky manual exposure only person and have been fairly disappointed with the manual focus solutions for the OVF. But I’m considering throwing caution to the wind and shooting auto ISO and maybe wide tracking? Let the camera figure it out? Or just stick to single point back button focusing in manual mode? All advice is welcome!
Self-storage solution: Immich
I've decided to finally migrate all of photos (both from cameras and mobile) to a self-storage solution called Immich.
The goal is to replace Google Photos/Apple iCloud, have my photos ready to be seen or downloaded from anywhere and also to automatically backup my phone photos instead of using iCloud.
It was a bit of a back and forth with Claude (I know...) to make it work, but I have to say that so far it is working really good.
Really recommend this for people who are trying to get away from cloud storage solutions.
Is there any other self-storage solution that you use?

One of the X-H2Ss and a couple of lenses may be spoken for soon — a friend has it on loan to test — but otherwise everything is still available. Prices are inc. VAT.
Very happy to answer questions about any of the kit.
Potentially some film cameras to sell too, but I need them given a once over first as they haven't been used in a while (Mamiya 7ii, Leica M6 TTL, Konica Hexar 35 AF)
Macbooks (pls forgive if this has been done)
Hi all. About to buy my first Macbook for editing and working on 'zine projects.
I'll be using Lightroom or similar, and an external 1TB SSD so storage isn't a huge factor (yet). Screen size isn't an issue.
Do i go Air or Pro?
16gb or 24gb
M processors: all amazing? Is a higher M overkill?
Thanks in advance
Shutter button
Does anyone have a good recommendation for shutter release buttons? I’m looking to get one for my M6/M11. Preferably a brass one that will last and develop a patina. Wanted to ask before just going with a generic Amazon one. Thanks in advance!
Does anyone have experience using the Leica 28mm
I've been looking for something wide for those times when I walk through small festivals and parades.
Manchester recommendations
Hi 👋🏻 I’m going to be in Manchester the next weekend (Aug 8-9) and since I’ve not been to the city in about 10 years would appreciate some recommendations of new places to visit, interesting areas for street photography, coffee shops, restaurants etc.
Thanks in advance!
Ps: if anyone is around the city and would be up for meeting for a coffee let me know!
Neck strap recommendations for street photography with a
I spent the afternoon walking the streets of Manchester with my X-Pro3 and was reminded that, despite trying a number of strap options over the years, I still haven’t found the ideal setup.
I’m currently using a climbing rope-style strap, which I generally like for its simplicity and comfort. My only issue is that the camera sits a little too low and tends to swing against my torso when walking.
I’ve also found myself moving away from the Peak Design anchor system. While it’s undeniably practical, it feels a little bulky on a camera as compact and understated as the X-Pro3.
With a small lens attached, the camera balances beautifully, so I’m looking for something minimal, comfortable and adjustable enough to keep it sitting a little higher on the chest.
Interested to hear what others are using for street work with rangefinder-style bodies..
Favorite sony e mount lenses
My area became flooded with A7RV after the new models released, so I sold all my other gear and picked one up mint for a steal. Sony shooters, what are your favorite compact lenses for e mount? Im testing out the ttartisan 40mm and pleasantly surprised for a $150 lens, but have my eye on the sony zeiss 2.8 as my longterm daily carry lens. I also have a Simera 28 on the way. Have no experience with the mount and the lens options are overwhelming.
Best 50mm for Leica M11?
Which 50mm you would recommend for the M11?
So many options and hard to decide. I would love a fast one possibly Leica.
At the moment the summilux 1.4 asph 11891 seems to be the best option. Does anyone have experience with this lens and would you recommend it?
Thanks a lot
Leica M11-R
Rumour is the Leica M11-R is coming before the Leica M12. Due this year or early next year https://leicarumors.com/2026/06/23/leica-m11-r-camera-rumors.aspx/
Leica (presets)
Hi everyone! I’m having a bit of trouble editing my Leica M10 photos. Are there any presets or color profiles you would recommend?
I thought there might be some presets available within the community, and I remember seeing a preset menu in one of the videos. Any help or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Gear swings and roundabouts
I buy way too much kit… only ever have one or two bodies, but I chop and change them a lot. I’ve noticed a pattern of stripping back to the smallest, lightest everyday setup I can for least resistance, but then eventually feeling it’s become too easy, feels shallow, and there’s nothing of me in what a quickly snap as I walk by… so I sell up and get something older or clunkier, certainly slower, so I’m forced to put some effort in. I maybe can’t catch everything but the photos certainly aren’t snatched. I prefer the photos I take in this second phase, but I crave the ease again so I repeat the cycle… just sold the x100 and bought a weird old sigma haven’t I. Feel familiar to anyone else? Just me?
DSLRs!
Anyone here rocking a DSLR camera as their regular setup for street/documentary photography? I just got rid of my mirrorless cameras and want to try sticking with my 6D for a while to see if I vibe with it. Would love to know if anyone else has gone on this journey!
