DSLRs!

Anyone here rocking a DSLR camera as their regular setup for street/documentary photography? I just got rid of my mirrorless cameras and want to try sticking with my 6D for a while to see if I vibe with it. Would love to know if anyone else has gone on this journey!

Looking for Sony Zeiss 35mm f2.8 ZA Lens

Hello. Does anyone know a good reliable store where I can buy a used Sony Zeiss 35mm f2.8? I noticed that MPB is hiking up the prices for this lens, and based on various discussions here about their shady ways, I would prefer to buy it from another reliable seller. Thanks for your help.

Manual Focus Lenses

Does anyone know why many of the manual focus lenses are now making auto-focus lenses, but no one is imitating Voigtlander and making manual lenses with electronic contacts?

Favorite sony e mount lenses

My area became flooded with A7RV after the new models released, so I sold all my other gear and picked one up mint for a steal. Sony shooters, what are your favorite compact lenses for e mount? Im testing out the ttartisan 40mm and pleasantly surprised for a $150 lens, but have my eye on the sony zeiss 2.8 as my longterm daily carry lens. I also have a Simera 28 on the way. Have no experience with the mount and the lens options are overwhelming.

Kids camera recs

I have a daughter who will soon be 7, and I'd like to get her a camera that's suitable for her age. I don't want anything with games or other distractions built in.

Reddit seems to recommend either the CampSnap digital camera (which doesn't have a screen) or the Kodak Friendly Zoom FZ45 (which does have a screen).

Does anyone here enjoy photography with their kids? I'd love to hear your recommendations or experiences.

Recommandations for a manual M mount 35mm ?

Hi everyone, I shoot primarily 50mm (ZM planar) on a Leica SL2s but I'd like to incorporate more 35mm, would you have a recommendation ? I wouldn't mind something less clinical than the ZM.

NAS or DAS?

Hi! I don't know if I'm writing to the right section but I wanted to ask people about their NAS or DAS system experience and recommendations. I saw Josh's NAS video and shooting always I thought that I should update my system a bit (recently I lost data from Lacie and that made me question everything again. I had one backup) I heard that NAS system are targets of hackers these days and DAS is safer and less expensive etc. and also NAS or DAS HDD's are less expensive than portable ones. so It kinda makes more sense?

Neck strap recommendations for street photography with a

I spent the afternoon walking the streets of Manchester with my X-Pro3 and was reminded that, despite trying a number of strap options over the years, I still haven’t found the ideal setup.

I’m currently using a climbing rope-style strap, which I generally like for its simplicity and comfort. My only issue is that the camera sits a little too low and tends to swing against my torso when walking.

I’ve also found myself moving away from the Peak Design anchor system. While it’s undeniably practical, it feels a little bulky on a camera as compact and understated as the X-Pro3.

With a small lens attached, the camera balances beautifully, so I’m looking for something minimal, comfortable and adjustable enough to keep it sitting a little higher on the chest.

Interested to hear what others are using for street work with rangefinder-style bodies..

Sticky counter on FujiGS645

Can any film nerds help me unstick the counter? Usually when I open the door the counter resets back to 0 but it’s currently stuck on 27. The film advance lever keeps going but the counter stays. Some forums say there’s a tab on the inside door that I can press to reset it but I can’t find it… for more context, I’ve had the same issue twice before. The first time, I sent it for a full service and there were no reports about the issue but it came back reset. Another time I sent it for repair and he fixed the broken light meter (which I didn’t think was possible) and again, he didn’t mention the broken counter but it came back fixed!

Thanks in advance for any insight 👀

Does anyone have experience using the Leica 28mm

I've been looking for something wide for those times when I walk through small festivals and parades.

Fave Lens and Camera Combos?

I've rattled on about this a lot but I never get bored of my XT5 and 35mm F2. What are your go to camera / lens combinations?

Poor man's Q3

Snagged an 18 1.4 for very cheap, and got myself a poor man's Q3 😂 almost the exact size and depth as the Q3 with the lens hood and only a tiny bit heavier. Will be putting it through the paces this weekend.

Seeking advice

I am looking for a second camera, something smaller than my X-T5 that can serve as an everyday, street photography carry, but also double as a backup body for paid gigs and events.

I am strongly considering the X-E5 because I love the rangefinder format, but deep down I know the X-T50 is probably the more sensible choice. Also love the idea of the X100VI, but not changing lenses is most likely a big no-no to serve as a second camera.

What do you guys think? Any feedbacks on those two bodys?
(I just really wish the new X-Pro would finally come out...)

Full spectrum filter experiments

As some of you know I've experimented with shooting with a full spectrum converted camera lately. Today I received some specialty filters, a KG3 filter which is basically a ND-filter for ir-light, and 550nm longpass filter, which block light with shorter than 550nm wave length. All these shot where taken at iso 200, f8, with shutterspeed adujsted to balance the exposure between the filters. Every filter combination had a custom white balance set an a grey card.
1. KG3
2. No filters
3. 550nm
4. Both KG3 and 550nm

Just got a new leather strap for my x-pro1, gotta say the x-pro1 + the 35mm F1.4, and a brown leather strap is a really nice looking setup

Jessops Sale

If you’re in the market for a new camera, Jessops have 10% off a lot of models including the X-T5, X-E5 and X-M5 with the code EXTRA10. Works on a few sale items as well, worth a look! https://www.jessops.com/

Gear swings and roundabouts

I buy way too much kit… only ever have one or two bodies, but I chop and change them a lot. I’ve noticed a pattern of stripping back to the smallest, lightest everyday setup I can for least resistance, but then eventually feeling it’s become too easy, feels shallow, and there’s nothing of me in what a quickly snap as I walk by… so I sell up and get something older or clunkier, certainly slower, so I’m forced to put some effort in. I maybe can’t catch everything but the photos certainly aren’t snatched. I prefer the photos I take in this second phase, but I crave the ease again so I repeat the cycle… just sold the x100 and bought a weird old sigma haven’t I. Feel familiar to anyone else? Just me?

Leica....

I've been really enjoying shooting on the canon p I picked up recently. I can easily adapt my lenses from ltm to m mount. What's the "best value" digital Leica M body?

(I know the words value and Leica don't belong in the same sentence).

Currently out with my Zenza Bronica SQ. Love it when the mirror slams into your face when hitting the shutter. 😆

My first camera was a sonya6100. But ever since i got the Fuji x-e3 its been collectief dust so I’m selling it. I mainly shoot primelens, but the 70-350mm on the sony was also a lot of fun on holiday. A Fuji that handles a zoomlens of this type well would be nice. I want to go for an upgrade in Fuji instead, what would you guys recommend?
