Hi everyone! I have a quick question about the monthly street photography challenge. I just joined the community today, and since the submission deadline is tomorrow, I was wondering whether the photo has to be taken during the month of the challenge, or if it can have been taken earlier. Thanks in advance!
I think it's up to you. I try to only submit things shot within the month. I feel like that's the point of a challenge. But I know that tons of people submit older work that fits the theme.
Might be cool to try to get one today but there are no rules against going into your archive :)
Thank you so much for your reply! I’ll try to head out tomorrow morning to capture an image that’s at least valid for the challenge. If that turns out to be impossible, I’ll dig through my archive and try to find the most recent photo I can.
Earlier ones are okay, but the whole point is to go out during the whole month and to shoot. If you cannot beat your best work on the theme, then you can send it. I think the main purpose for the assignement is to have a goal to improve, something to chase and to train your eye each time you go out :)

Hi. I’m new here too. I was thinking the same thing but sort of worked it out. I’ve had to use a picture from June this year but going forward I am to try and shoot to the brief. Obviously your mileage may vary…
