Framelines Funding
Has Framelines ever considered funding a zine project for a member or two each year? Even a small grant toward printing/production could be a really cool way to support members in turning a body of work into something tangible. I’d love to see something like this become part of the community. Curious if this has ever been discussed?
Could do a zine contest, people submit digital zines and the winner gets printed
I like that
Yeah and then short listed ones could be available online
We have loosely been chatting to some printers about partnering up so we are defintely thinking of ways for people to promote their own zines / us to spotlight them, can’t guarantee anything soon but watch this space
Zines are a great, affordable way to get your work into print. Of course, selling more than a handful probably requires either a decent following or some good promotion.
Taking your idea a stage further, I wonder whether the Framelines community could produce a zine featuring the best work from the assignments. It could be a great way to showcase the community’s photography and give everyone the opportunity to see their work in print.
Really interesting idea! Thumbs up!
