What photo podcasts do Listen to? Aperture: 11

I find that podcasts about photographers I've never heard of aren't that interesting to me. When photographers I love are the subject of a podcast, I'm often annoyed that the host just isn't a good interviewer. They fail to keep the conversation moving along. Or they talk about themselves too much (Sasha Wolf, an art dealer in NYC and the host of the PhotoWork podcast, interviews great photographers, but she spends more time talking about herself than the photography).
Does anyone listen to The Candid Frame still? I did years ago. Ibarionex Perello is wonderful interviewer.
I do sometimes, but my interest in who he has on varies wildly!!
Sometimes listen to Street Life or Frames
I like:
- Exposed Negative — more industry/working as a professional photographer focussed, with interviews of e.g art directors, agents, etc. as well as photographers
- A Small Voice — photographer choice can lean a bit too academic/wanky for my tastes, and I find the host mildy irritating. BUT, he does a lot of research, knows his stuff, and normally does a thorough interview
- The Messy Truth — like Small Voice, can be a bit academic/conceptual but Gem is a good interviewer
Not strictly speaking a podcast as they're YouTube channels but:
- Walkie Talkie (channel: Paulie B) — EXCELLENT interviews with street and doc photographers, usually talking with them while they walk and photograph around their usual stomping grounds (mostly NYC, but lots elsewhere more recently). This is a must watch series for me, even when I don't know the person
- Samuel Streetlife — does good interviews from time to time between his solo videos. Can't remember what he calls that series. Watched a v good one recently from a street photographer in Rome.
- Louisiana Channel — gallery's YT channel with good interviews or videos on photographers and artists.
- Wrong Side of the Lens — I think they might have stopped making videos, but lots of good stuff to get into in their small archive. Esp. their interview with Daniel Arnold
I’m a fan of Street Life, love the banter of those guys. Eyeshot magazine has some cool interviews as well. Candela by Alan Schaller was fun to but the podcast is no langer running.
