I'm very lucky
After a lifetime of thinking "I'll never get to do this" I finally live near the beach. I've seen several other people who shoot beach scenes on here. Here's a favorite of mine from a couple of weeks ago.

I love there guy sitting there painting sunflowers. He chose the location just to sit and paint.

Very cool. How did you make it happen Mike? I'm aiming to move to the Isle of Man so hopefully you can inspire me to get rolling.
It was a day recently when a local bunch of artists spent the day at various spots on the beach doing their thing as part of the annual Deal Arts Festival . It just felt right in terms of juxtaposition.
My apologies for not being clear Mike. I meant how did you make the move to living near the beach.
Ah. Well my wife and I ran our own West London wineshop and bar for 11 years and we decided to sell it and our house and move to Deal. We’d already spent about a year renting a second place there to see if we actually liked it as a place to live rather than just visit (we did)

Retirement? Not quite yet Bob. But if you’re planning your own move I’d say do your research on location, spend some time finding the right house (plenty of people move here and then move again within two years).

I'm guessing seascapes wasn't the group assignment for the day. Well observed, especially the woman whose stance and hand on the hip probably betray her opinion of the sunflowers painting.
Ironically none of them were painting what was in front of them.
