Hi all What platform does everyone for their website/portfolio ?
I've always been locked into Squarespace but in recent years realising it's very limited and not great, keen to also hear what everyone else uses.
Squarespace, because every photography YouTuber told me to.
Flickr is the one that I primarily upload to
My site is built on Format. (https://www.format.com/) It’s designed to host photography and it’s been excellent for years. I don’t really use much of what it offers.
I’m a developer by day, so built my site with Astro framework (https://astro.build/) and host in Netlify.
Also using Astro here, although on Cloudflare. Allows a lot of customisability but I'm also a dev so the learning curve wasn't as big an issue.
I use the Portfolio website included with Lightroom. Does the job. https://craignelson.myportfolio.com/

Me too. Portfolio is free and fairly simple. No idea why Adobe don’t show it more love.

I used to have a Wix-site but since I only want a simple place to show my portfolio I switched to the lightroomwebsite which is very easy https://whoogenboom.myportfolio.com/work

It was built specifically to tell visual stories so it is great if you want to create long form articles with your images.

Adobe Portfolio is pretty good. It forces you to keep things simple. I switched to Squarespace. It’s definitely more powerful and easy to use. I thought that it would be worth it to have email newsletters integrated with my template design / fonts and stuff. Not sure that’s all that valuable.

Squarespace. I've done enough tinkering with it to suit my liking, though I realise it's perhaps not as feature heavy as some might need.

Right now I have both of my websites on Adobe Potfolio, My commercial site, I am moving to Pixieset because that’s what I already use to manage that side of my business
I’ve decided to do it on my own last year with a bit of help from Claude Code.
Hosted on Vercel on the free plan and I’ve built and iterated it over the last year. It’s built on NextJS with Tailwind for Styles and also matches my regular website (but that one is 11ty as static files). And I’ve added recently a mini CMS as well in a couple of days.
If you don’t mind tinkering a bit I think it’s worth it trying to do it on you own.
