Intent
Behind the frame
- What I was trying to do:
- I was trying to get people's reactions to the vegan demonstration on Easter Sunday. I didn't want to make it so obvious what was going on so only included a part of the demonstration in the frame.
- What worked:
- The childrens expressions were perfect for what I was trying to capture. Not showing the whole demonstration just adds a little ambiguity to the scene
- What I'd do differently:
- Probably try to get his arm coming down with the axe but the children would have been gone by then. I've got ones with the axe in shot but the people/ expressions weren't as interesting

I love the framing - remove the heads, include the onlooking children, maximum ambiguity.

Very clever use of framing which, of course, makes you think about what the hell is going on! The children's expressions are beautifully caught too.

So excellent ! It's like the photo is in 2 halves, cut diagonally then linked together by the childs facial expression . Great image
