Intent

Behind the frame

What I was trying to do:: I wanted layers and I wanted to see how far I can go. Mainly taken during the time of deep anxiety over parenthood, this photo captures different observers in front of a tide pool simulation.
What worked:: This photo being in B&W is necessary, color would distract from the overall motion, gestures and expressions. The layers felt organic to me, and I only had a split second to capture the scene as I felt and saw.
What I'd do differently:: Nothing, the gestures and expression is what I negotiated for. I would have loved more layers in the background but it is a negotiation and I am happy with what I came out with .
