Behind the frame
What I was trying to do:
I wanted to capture this moment between a father and his son. Father looking at the distance, admiring the beautiful Cornish landscape, his son putting his arm around his shoulders. Felt like a quiet, calm but emotionally charged moment to me.
What worked:
I think the way his arm reaches, and his tilted head gives a nice direction to the frame. I also like the sharp contrast between the subjects and the landscape. Makes it almost feel like they are in a different world.
What I'd do differently:
I think I could have framed it better. There is too much negative space in the sky, so the frame feels a bit unbalanced. Maybe taking the shot from higher up and tilting the camera slightly down could have been better. But it was a very quick moment that happened when I was passing by and I didn't have any space to take another step back.
Also, a few scattered clouds would have been nice!
