What type of dailies feed would you prefer?
I think we need to introduce a level of curation to the dailies feed. Here are options we’re looking at. What do you think?

Just random? As I get stuck being fed the same 5 videos on YouTube, I’m kinda not feeling an algorithm.
It would be cool to see *which* pictures people are really liking though. I don’t know how that would be done, but when receiving a like, I’d love to k ke which of my 5 or 6 photos really resonate with that person.

IMHO chronological is alright. Maybe an option for users to curate their own feed. Or an option to follow users and see their posts in a separate feed.

I feel like sort options seem the best for all. The default feed could be chronological but then users could select a drop down and have the choice whether to see top liked, new, editors pick etc. Seems like best of both worlds.
This is what I’m thinking. Default to how it is now with additional options. Maybe simplified into two top buttons of “Recent” (chronological) and “Hot” (most interacted with in the last week)
I brain farted and clicked Algo but I was really just wanting to see what the rest of that option’s text was! I think a sticky sort order choice specific to the logged in user
I think you can change it and then just leave it. Not absolutely sure if that’s how it works, or if there’s a time limit before it’s baked in.

If you push most likes then the most liked would tend to get more likes?
I like the idea of sorting options, but I think there is value in having the default be a chronological record. If both were possible you would have a searchable timeline in the form of a chain of time capsules.

Being new, defaulting to chronological would be my choice, as anyone who posts would have their image at the top or near the top of the feed for a short time and at least be seen. Most liked would surely become a member driven algorithm and one of the many reasons I bought into Framelines, was the tagline that there were no algorithms. There have been 36 posts to Dailies in the last 24 hours and personally, I see it as an opportunity to see other peoples work and certainly not a chore. (Walks back into corner)
Big fan of chronological! It helps me to discover more people’s work and you never know what you might see. Anything too curated runs the risk of people not posting as they might overthink it whereas at least with chronological everyone gets equal opportunities.
With that being said, I do love the ‘Popular’ or ‘Editors Pick’ because you know those are gonna be 🔥

It’s nice to see how aligned we are on this.
I think chronological with sort options is a good solution, and we can try it out and fine-tune it.

Yeah I like chronological with editors picks and top post thumbnails, basically the way it is
Often what we say doesn't align with what we really want. ;-)
Could we have rotating community curators? Maybe they could pick a photo a day to feature? At the end of the month have 30 or 31 photos? They could be curator for a week or a month? I don’t know if that’s a lot of work for you both?
Would prefer that the chronological order remains the default & that any other sort orders are given as custom options. I personally hate curated feeds.
Chronological is the common denominator. Everyone gets to sit there for a bit and have their photo seen so I can come across something that is not pushed there by an algorithm so someone else's preference. I like the three tabs option as well that someone mentioned above
