Wish I could, but son has just undergone a surgery that requires me to stay home. I hope you have a wonderful trip! I'm envious!Reply

NYC is my street playground. Unfortunately I still work during the week and can't join you.Reply

I'd start my day on the east side of the city and move west with the sun. Popular areas could be in order of:
Brooklyn bridge, Wall street area, Chinatown, Soho, Washington Sq Park (great for people watching), Union Sq, head west on 14th street until you get to the water/Little island, Pier 57 (go up to the roof). Once on the westside you could head south to the Oculus, then further south to Robert Wagner Park (great place to see the Statue of Liberty and the sunset). Or from 14th street/Little Island you could instead head north on the Highline until you reach the Vessel.

There's obviously a lot of places to see in NYC but for one day of picture taking I hope this helps you start to plan a route for the day.

Hi Michael, Wall Street in the morning is a great spot, if really sunny, the light that bounces around some of the streets and buildings down there can be interesting. From there you could walk over to the Oculus building and surrounding area (WTC memorial). 5th Ave and Ave of the Americas (50th St and above) from around noon onwards is amazing if it’s full sun, take advantage of the light as the sun moves east to west and floods the avenues. With the mix of tourists and office workers it can make for some interesting photos.

Hope you get some bangers! Unfortunately I’ll be working and won’t be in the city : (Reply
