What is a favourite photograph of yours...
Arnold Newman's portrait of Stravinsky is one of my favourite photographs. This contact sheet (partial) with his crop marks for the printer; where we see how he progressed the session, ignored the rule of thirds, and the iconic photograph with Stravinsky relegated to the bottom left hand corner. More than seventy years old with a style that's still box fresh.
Joel Meyerwotiz's photo taken from a car window in Greece. I love the raw nature of this shot and moment captured. I can just see him sitting in the car excited to catch up to them with his Leica at the ready.

Newman's portraits are so creative... that Warhol one lives in my head where nightmares are made.
I may have to sleep with the light on tonight at the thought of the Warhol portrait, Dan :-)

This one. By Alfred Einstaedt. Children in the Tuileries garden, watching a puppet show, apparently Saint George and the dragon. He waited patiently, camera ready, till the dragon was slayed. This was their reaction. That little girl, second from the right at the bottom… I love this photograph.

We don't have these kind of fire escapes in England, which is why this, and Stanley Forman's image of the girls in mid air after a fire escape collapsed, have stayed with me. Thanks for taking part.
